Why I HATE Clubhouse
I’m going to try and be as civil as possible, but when I say clubhouse makes me ANGRY, I mean it makes me LIVID. Here are my top three reasons why I don’t like the app.
It’s voice chat only
I come from a family with deaf people. This app is ablest in every sense of the word and such a slap in the face to inclusivity. There are no captions, no chats, no DMs. Really I could end here because this is my main beef with the app. Making it inaccessible for others is such a HUGE red flag for me.It’s invite-only
This is like the pool party that all the popular kids got invited to. If you aren’t in the business world, it’s much more difficult to get access. Now from the development side, I can understand wanting to limit people so that you can make sure your app can handle more users, but that’s what waitlists are for. This is just advancing the narrative that if you don’t know people, you are a nobody. It’s iPhone only
Look, I know I’m not an app developer, but I also know that most apps are available on both iPhone and Android. When you create an app that is only accessible to half the population (and the half with the more expensive phones), you are not allowing for inclusivity.
Obviously, I have heated opinions on this new app, and I hope I was able to get them across. As you can imagine, I am YELLING from my computer as I write this.
Please consider finding alternatives to expand your business rather than enabling this ablest and non-inclusive app.
