Addressing the Top Reasons People Don’t Have a Website (Yet)

I’ve gathered the recurring objections that I hear and addressed each one. If you have any of these objections, you are not alone. However, I want you to be able to make an informed decision.

  1. “I don’t have my color palette figured out”

I think you’re confusing colors with branding.  Colors are a mere blip in the map of branding.  Branding is super important because it’s the first impression that your prospects have of you.  Regardless, color palette is not something to stress over.  Firstly, someone like me can help you narrow down your color palette.  Secondly, a color palette is never a death sentence—it can change!

  2. “I don’t know what it would say”

You aren’t an expert copywriter, and that’s ok!  Your focus is on your business.  You are not the first person to get stuck on the copy, which is why I have an in-house copywriter to help you!

  3. “My business isn’t successful enough for a website”

There is no benchmark for when a business deserves a website.  A website is a tool for you to use rather than a destination.  The earlier you get your website up, the better.

  4. “What if no one visits it?”

Ok worst case scenario, no one visits your website so you redesign (or hire someone to redesign) your SEO strategy.  SEO is critical to getting your website out there.

  5. “I don’t really think I need a website”

Hey, you know your business best!  I will tell you that a website offers credibility, professionalism, around the clock promotion, increases reach, and sells for you.

  6. “I can just do it myself later”

94% of people say design is the reason they mistrust a website*.  I absolutely believe that you can build a website that looks great, but you should consider the time you’ll need to spend learning the software and then actually building the website.

  7. “It’s too expensive”

Website design is an investment, there’s no other way to say it.  It costs what it does because of the hours spent and the skill needed.  Good design pays off.  A website you love means a website you will promote.  A good website means it works for you.  One of my clients hadn’t seen a sale in months and the day after we re-launched her website she got a sale!  Good design sells for you and makes your investment back.

Have a different reason for waiting to invest in a website? Comment it below! I’d love to address it so you can make an educated decision.
